Service Description

The requirements for working safely around electrical equipment are constantly changing. Understanding these changes and requirements is critical to safeguarding yourself and others from harm. In this course, we will walk through the various requirements from NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace and relevant sections of the National Electrical Safety Code (NEC). We will also review relevant references in OSHA and the National Electric Safety Code (IEEE C2) used by utility companies. The attendee will walk away with a better understanding of these sometimes confusion requirements. Topics such as understanding Arc Flash labeling requirements, understanding the NFPA 70E table method vs. the engineering analysis method, Qualified vs. Unqualified Persons, Establishing an Electrically Safe Working Condition, Normal Operation procedures, Energy Isolation and Lock Out Tag Out, PPE requirements, Establishing a Zero Voltage Energy State, Troubleshooting and Diagnostics exemptions, Electrical Energized Work Permit, Arc Flash Boundaries, Shock Boundaries and many other topics. Note: This class is not endorsed by NFPA or OSHA and you will not receive credit or certification offered by NFPA or OSHA by attending this class.
